Materials

1 115m/126yd 3.5oz/100g Ball Rowan Cocoon in Kiwi
1 x 5.5mm (US9) x 30cm circular needle (dpn’s required or magic loop method when decreases get too small)

Gauge  16 sts and 26 rows to 4”/10cm in corkscrew pattern on 5.5 (US 9) needles.

Size  Newborn (3-6months, 6-12 months, 1-3yrs, 3-10yrs)

Abbreviations

co - cast on

k - knit

p- purl

ssk - slip one stitch knitwise from left to right needle.  Slip the next st in the same way.  Go into both sts from the front with the left needle and knit both together.

bo - bind off

1 x 3.5mm (US4) x 30cm circular needle

Gauge  28 sts and 40 rows to 4”/10cm in st. st on 3.5 (US 4) needles.

Size
  One size - measures approx 18”/46cm x 8”/20cm when laid flat.

Abbreviations

yo - yarn over needle - bring yarn to the front of work as if to purl the next stitch, then knit into next stitch creating an extra ‘stitch’ by the yarn going over the needle.

p3tog - purl next 3 stitches together.

s1 - slip next stitch.

pm - place marker.

1 safety pin or spare yarn
2 stitch holders

Size  Medium 10cm/4” across palm

Abbreviations

m1 - Make one by picking up thread in between two stiches below and knitting into the back of it.

ssk- Slip two stitches onto right needle, then knit these two stitches together by inserting left needle into the front of both stitches.

k2tog - knit next two sts together

3.25mm (US 3) OR 3.5mm (US 4) OR 3.75mm (US 5) x 30cm circular needle, depending on size making.
1 stitch holder or safety pin
1 stitch marker.

Gauge  28 sts and 40 rows to 4in”/10cm on 3.5mm (US 4) needles in stocking stitch

Size 

Small (approx 8.5cm/3.35” across palm), use 3.25mm (US 3) Medium, (approx 9.5cm/3.75” across palm) use 3.5mm (US 4) needles.  Large (approx 11cm/4.3” across palm) use 3.75mm (US 5) needles.   Note there is a lot of stretch in the gloves!

1 x 270m/300yd 3.5oz/100g Skein Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend Colour 2444, or similar DK weight yarn.
1 x 3mm (US 3) x 30cm circular needle.
1 x 3.5mm (US4) x 30cm circular needle or 5 x double pointed needles. 

Gauge  28 sts and 40 rows to 4”/10cm in st. st on 3.5 (US 4) needles.

Size  to fit 55cm/22” head just above the ribbing band.  Note that my gauge was tighter than recommended for this yarn.  For a medium size, take the needle size up to 3.75mm (US 5) or large, 4mm (US 6). Please note there is a lot of stretch in this pattern!
